After much research and discussion I am delighted to reveal the location and some details about the next Jungle Adventure.
Key details and Q&A at the end, but first, the experience:
The expedition will take place in the Arunachal Pradesh Region in the North East of India in October 2023.

Early Morning Mist
It borders Tibet to the North and China to the East.
We will be in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas.
Remote and Unexplored
Forest cover in this area still exceeds 70-80% of the land.
It is one of the few remaining ecologically diverse and intact regions on Earth.
It is regarded as one of the most important densities of Primary Jungle in the world.
It is so remote that it is largely undisturbed and is one of the least explored parts of India.
Only local tribes people go in there.
The journey from the local airport to the where we will meet the guides and shaman will be via 4×4 convoy.
The bus is not an option this time!
Arrival
On arrival at the village we will receive a Shamanic blessing ceremony from the shaman and be presented with a protection bracelet.
We will also be issued with our Dao. A traditional local jungle knife. One for each person.
Jungle Phase
After the first night in the Jungle we will then move on each day, stopping at a different camp night, everyone carrying all thier own food and equipment for 7 days.
We will be accompanied by local guides, climbing roughly 5,000 feet over 3 days and then coming back down again.
We will be crossing rivers and streams sometimes over bridges made by our guides.
The temperature will be around 30 degrees and humid in the lowlands getting cooler as we get higher, but still hot.
Nightime temperatures will be about about 20 degrees, maybe slightly cooler at the top before we turn to come back down.
After the summer rains the Jungle at this time of year will be bursting with the colour of wild flowers and orchids as we climb.
Coupled with the sound of the birds and animals it will be amazing.
Indigenous animals to the area are:
- Tigers,
- Elephants,
- Cloud Leopards,
- Black Bears,
- Gibbons
- Red Pand
- Musk Deer
- Great Indian Hornbill
- Macaque Monkeys
- Flying Squirrels
Over 7 days we will start at about 4000 feet and ascend to 9000 feet and down again.
Rest and Recuperation
We will then head across India to Rajasthan and spend 3 days rest and recuperation at a 15th century Hill fort that has been converted to a hotel.

Key Details and Q&A:
Who is it suitable for? Men and Women have attended in the past. With no experience. Youngest age 19 and eldest mid 60’s. It is a challenge but the most important attributes are attitude and character. If you want a challenge and memory of a lifetime, this could be it.
How fit do I need to be? You need to be fit and strong enough to carry a 25kg rucksack over difficult terrain for a full day. However, it is not the Army, there are regular stops and it is not a speed march. In my experience most people can get fit and prepared for it.
How do I train for it? Everyone gets a training program, we get a group going to communicate with and support each other and build camaraderie and spirit ready for the expedition.

Date: Early October 2023
Duration: 12 days: 2 days travel, 7 days in the Jungle, 3 days R&R at the end.
R&R: This will take place in a stunningly beautiful and relaxing 500 year old hill fort in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
