The expedition will now end with a motorbike decent back into camp on the back of bikes driven by a local team!
In March 2025 I will be taking people on the fourth Jungle Expedition.
After much research and discussion I am delighted to reveal the location and some details about the next Jungle Adventure.
Key details and Q&A at the end, but first, the experience:
The expedition will take place in Cambodia from 3-16 March 2025.
Please note: 20 spaces have already been filled.
That means that there are 4 spaces remaining…
The Expedition will comprise of three phases:
Phase 1: Acclimatisation phase.
We will land in Siam Reap and transfer to our hotel. Day 2 will consist of Mountain bike rides through the jungle exploring the temples with a guide. This will also serve as a great opportunity to acclimatise to the heat and humidity of the Jungle.
Day 2: Sunrise at Angkor Wat: This will then entail an early start and sunrise at the famous Angkor Wat Temple, regarded as the world’s largest religious building and location of the famous Lara Croft Films.
Day 3: Road move to the Captial city Pnom Penh: We will move to the Capital for the last night before the Jungle Insertion on Day 4.
Day 4: Helicopter Insertion into the Cardamom Mountains: We will insert be helicopter into the remote Cardamom Mountains for a 7 day Jungle Expedition.
Phase 2: Jungle Phase: Cardamom Mountains:
Remote and unexplored it is the next frontier in Cambodia.
The Cardamom Mountains rain forest is one of the last intact rain forests left in Southeast Asia. It is also one of the most species-rich areas in the world, including many rare, threatened and endemic species.
After the first night in the Jungle we will then move on each day, stopping at a different camp night, everyone carrying all our own food and equipment for 7 days.
By the time you get to the Jungle you will have all the skills and fitness that you need:
- You will be fit enough to carry a 25kg pack through Jungle terrain.
- You will have the skills to set up your own sleeping system that will keep you safe and dry at night in the Jungle.
- You will have the skills to move as part of a team, keeping yourself safe in our primal environment.
We will be accompanied by local guides.
We will walk from early morning until early afternoon when we will set up camp and have time then to bathe, eat and share experiences from the day.
We will be dropped off at about 1000m and then move down into deeper jungle.
We will be crossing rivers and streams with our guides.
The temperature will be around 30 degrees and humid in this part of the Jungle.
Nightime temperatures will be about about 25 degrees.
Coupled with the sound of the birds and animals it will be amazing.
Indigenous animals to the area are:
- Tigers,
- Elephants,
- Cloud Leopards,
- Malaysian Sun Bears,
- Gibbons
- Hornbills
- Monkeys
Phase 3: Rest and Recuperation
On day 11 we will leave the Jungle and travel by road to the coast.
We will then get on speedboats across to the Island of Koh Rong Sanloem for 3 nights R&R. This is the time to relax, share stories of the trip and really digest the experience that we have all just shared together.
Key Details and Q&A:
Who is it suitable for? Men and Women have attended in the past. With no experience. Youngest age 19 and eldest mid 60’s. It is a challenge but the most important attributes are attitude and character. If you want a challenge and memory of a lifetime, this could be it.
How fit do I need to be? You need to be fit and strong enough to carry a 25kg rucksack over difficult terrain for a full day. However, it is not the Army! There are regular stops and it is not a speed march. In my experience most people can get fit and prepared for it.
How do I train for it? Everyone gets a training program, we get a group going to communicate with and support each other and build camaraderie and spirit ready for the expedition.

Date: 3-16 March 2025
Duration: 14 days: 2 days travel, 2 days acclimatisation, 7 days in the Jungle, 3 days R&R at the end.
R&R: This will take place on the Island of Koh Rong Sanloem.
Cost: £4.9k. Flight cost is £1100.
